Direct answer

What is a LinkedIn MCP for ChatGPT?

A LinkedIn MCP for ChatGPT connects your LinkedIn data to ChatGPT so you can ask ChatGPT who engaged with your posts, who viewed your profile, and which of them fit your ideal customer profile. Cclarity is the no-code, no-automation option that works in regular ChatGPT (Plus, Pro, and Team).

Paste one URL into ChatGPT settings and your LinkedIn data is live. No developer setup, no scraping, no ban risk.

How it works

What a LinkedIn MCP for ChatGPT actually does.

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard that lets AI tools like ChatGPT read data from external sources during a conversation. Instead of copying stats out of LinkedIn and pasting them into a chat window, ChatGPT can query your LinkedIn data directly while you talk.

With a LinkedIn MCP connected, you can ask ChatGPT things like:

  • "Who engaged with my last two posts and which of them are founders or heads of growth?"
  • "How many people viewed my profile this week? What companies do they work at?"
  • "Which of my recent post engagers have I not spoken to yet?"

The insight lands in the conversation where you are already thinking, not in a separate analytics dashboard you have to log in to. For background on how the protocol works, see what a LinkedIn MCP is.

The data

What LinkedIn data you get inside ChatGPT.

Once Cclarity is connected, ChatGPT can access:

  • Post engagers by name, role, and ICP-fit. For each post, see which real people engaged, their job titles and companies, and whether they match the customer profile you have defined.
  • Profile viewers. Who visited your profile recently, with name, role, and company.
  • Post performance. Impressions, engagement counts, and engagement rate per post.
  • Followers. Recent followers and their professional details.
  • Connections. Your connection list, queryable inside ChatGPT.

What ChatGPT CANNOT read via Cclarity: your LinkedIn DMs. That data is not exposed.

Keith's own LinkedIn account running through Cclarity logs a 7.6% engagement rate, against an industry benchmark of 2 to 5%. The value is not the rate itself; it is knowing exactly which people are behind it. For more on this, see LinkedIn ICP-fit engagement rate explained.

Worked examples

Prompts to try once connected.

These are real queries that work once your data is live:

  • "Show me everyone who engaged with my posts in the last 14 days who works at a company with 10 to 200 employees."
  • "Which of my profile viewers this week have the title Head of Sales or VP Marketing?"
  • "Compare my engagement rate this month versus last month."
  • "Who are my three most recent followers and what industries are they in?"
  • "Of the people who engaged with my post about [topic], which ones are based in Singapore?"

You can also ask ChatGPT to draft an outreach message for a specific person it has just surfaced. The data and the writing sit in the same window.

The honest comparison

Cclarity vs LiGo and other LinkedIn ChatGPT connectors.

A handful of tools connect LinkedIn to ChatGPT in some form. Here is how they differ.

LiGo is primarily a LinkedIn content and engagement tool. It has an MCP runner that lets GPT-based assistants pull LinkedIn context for content creation. Its core positioning is helping creators write and automate LinkedIn posts. If your goal is content automation, LiGo is worth a look.

Cclarity's focus is different. It is built for founders and operators who want PIPELINE intelligence, not content automation. The specific question Cclarity answers is: of all the people engaging with your content, which ones match your ideal customer? That ICP-fit layer, paired with first-party data and the no-automation design, is what separates it.

Cclarity LiGo MCP
Primary use Pipeline intelligence Content creation
ICP-fit filtering Yes No
Data source First-party, no scraping Scraper-based runner

Safety

Is it safe to connect LinkedIn to ChatGPT?

The safety question is real and worth addressing directly.

Cclarity NEVER sends a DM, posts a comment, or sends a connection request on your behalf. The only outbound action it can take is publishing a text post to LinkedIn, and only when you review and explicitly confirm it in the conversation. There is a hard limit of five posts per day. No scheduling, no automated sequences, no drip campaigns.

This is a deliberate design choice, not a limitation. The automated actions that get LinkedIn accounts flagged or banned are exactly the ones Cclarity does not do. You take every real action; Cclarity gives you the intelligence to know which actions are worth taking.

On the data side, Cclarity uses first-party data that you sync from your own LinkedIn account. It does not automate your browser session or scrape public pages. There is no ToS grey area.

Cclarity is priced from $29/month (founder pricing; standard $49/month when founder slots close). To see it working in a live account before subscribing, book a call.

Frequently asked

LinkedIn MCP for ChatGPT, answered straight.

What is a LinkedIn MCP for ChatGPT?

A LinkedIn MCP for ChatGPT is a connector that puts your real LinkedIn data inside ChatGPT so you can ask natural-language questions about who engaged with your posts, who viewed your profile, and which contacts match your ideal customer. MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, the standard that lets ChatGPT query external data sources directly during a conversation.

Which ChatGPT plan do I need to connect a LinkedIn MCP?

You need a ChatGPT Plus, Pro, or Team account. Connecting a custom remote MCP server uses the Connectors feature with Developer Mode, which is available on paid plans. ChatGPT Free does not support custom MCP connectors as of May 2026.

Is it safe to connect LinkedIn to ChatGPT using Cclarity?

Yes. Cclarity uses first-party data synced from your LinkedIn account through official means, not browser scraping. It never sends a DM, posts a comment, or takes any automated action on LinkedIn without your explicit confirmation. The only outbound action it supports is publishing a text post you have reviewed and approved. This avoids the actions that get LinkedIn accounts restricted or banned.

How do I add a custom MCP server in ChatGPT?

Open ChatGPT Settings, go to the Connectors tab, click Advanced settings, and toggle on Developer Mode. Then click Create, enter the MCP server URL (api.cclarity.io/mcp for Cclarity), set authentication to OAuth, and complete the authorisation flow. To use it in a chat, click the plus icon in the composer, select More, choose Developer mode, and select your connector. A ChatGPT Plus, Pro, or Team account is required.

What LinkedIn data can ChatGPT see through Cclarity?

ChatGPT can access your post engagers (with names, roles, and ICP-fit scoring), profile viewers, post performance metrics, recent followers, and your connection list. It cannot read your LinkedIn DMs. The focus is on who is engaging with your content and who is viewing your profile, because that is where the prospecting intelligence sits.

How much does the Cclarity LinkedIn MCP cost?

Cclarity is priced from $29 a month under founder pricing. The standard price is $49 a month once founder slots close. There is no free tier, but you can book a free strategy call to see it working in a live account before you commit.
